Intergalactic Navajo

Recently I've been attracted to this certain type of jewelry. Not sure what the fashion guru's would call it, but it's a mixture of tribal, native american, and almost alien-like influences. Most of the time these pieces include a metal of some sort, interesting shapes, intricate designs, are fairly bulky, and can even include some Greek inspiration. Not to be confused with 80's style abstract southwest jewelry..  I'll let these pictures do the talking.

These are my personal favorites that I own... not gonna lie, they're all from Forever 21. That is the best place to find this trend! Or Free People, if you have a thicker wallet. And if money is no object, definitely check out House of Harlow and Pamela Love!

ooh, now that I think about it.... Stargate (1994) is a great example. Futuristic versions of ancient jewelry...? I'll quit trying. 

Fall.

Fall is by far my favorite season for fashion. After surfing the world wide web, I've come up with my favorite looks for the season. I feel like the following are a perfect mixture of current trends and classic fall attire!

DIY: Ombre dye shorts

I fell in love with this blog "Honestly... WTF"! They have the best DIY's! At first it was all about the homemade arm party, but then I saw the DIY ombre dyed jean shorts! I went straight to Michael's and bought some dye!! Or is it diy...?

I had old light colored jeans laying around, put them on, made a mark and cut off the legs. The next step, and this is optional, is destroying the denim to make them look vintage. To do this I had help from a previous blog post.

You can put your own style into it! I personally chose to do red and blue, and dyed the whole jean so that the shorts went from pink at the top to red to purple at the very bottom. You may have to resort to art class in middle school- remember, blue and red mixed make purple! Have fun!
